It was a tough challenge today in the second round with the difficult commissioned piece by Gustav Bjerre with all its flageolets showing the nerves on stage today. Lets see who wins the price for the piece tomorrow in the finale! A long day with Bartok, Schumann, Debussy and Mendelssohn showed us very different musicianship and different quartet-sound which it will be exciting to follow tomorrow when we will hear all three finalists playing Beethoven and Carl Nielsen. The jury were not in doubt, and the three quartets for the final are: Quartet HANA, NOVO Quartet and Kleio Quartet. Follow them on livestream from 17 on Sunday.
