An absolutely amazing final for string quartet with intense nerves and top class string players! The quartets played Schubert, Beethoven and of course Carl Nielsen in the final round in the beautiful Concert Hall at The Royal Danish Academy of Music. 3 hours of music and we could have dreamed of even more!

The jury has spoken, and the winner of the String Quartet category is Simply Quartet. Balourdet String Quartet won the 2. Prize and the 3. Prize went to Quatuor Elmire who also got the Special Prize for the commissioned piece. Congratulations to you all! It has been an absolutely fantastic week here in Copenhagen with both winds and strings playing so incredibly well. Thanks to everyone for following us here at Carl Nielsen International Chamber Music Competition!
