No Strings Attached

No Strings Attached

Sweden

Wind Quintet No Strings Attached was founded in September 2014, in Musikhögskolan, Malmö. It consists of young professionals and students, who met at the Academy already a few years ago and became good friends. All of the members come from different countries: Sweden, Denmark, Latvia, Canada and Poland, which result in a lot of diversity within the ensemble. The fusion of cultures and different characters brings up new, fresh qualities to the process of music- making.
No Strings Attached was chosen to represent the Academy and Sweden outside the country. The Quintet took part in an international project by German- Nordic Youth Philharmonic called The Young North. In January 2015, the musicians performed Carl Nielsen’s Wind Quintet, op. 43 in Berlin and Wismar, during many educational and gala concerts, playing i.e. at the Berlin Philharmonic Chamber Hall.
