Quintet “Sui Generis” (latin: unique in its characteristics) was founded in 2012. The teacher is the principal oboe of the State Symphony Capella of Russia, Anastasiya Tabankova. The musicians are students and graduates of Moscow State Conservatory. All musicians are winners of international music competitions. Sui Generis has frequently recitals in the concert halls of Moscow and other Russian cities. In 2013 the ensemble won the second prize at the fifth International Competition of Moscow Conservatory for Winds & Percussion and the special prize for the best performance of the contemporary piece. In November 2013 the ensemble was invited to Tomsk to take part in the closing ceremony of the third International Competition for young composers named after Edison Denisov. The quintet performed works of winners of the competition.
